I opened and let it stand in the the decanter for about 1 1/2 hrs. By the time of dinner it was wonderful. Violet color. The nose was very enticing, dark berries, cedar, sage, vanilla and plum. In the palate it was medium in body, silky tannins, and the aras were confirmed by the flavors, however it was a bit more complew than that. A touch of dark chocolate, coffee and a faint mineral note. It us was very good, I recommend this winnery to anyone.

Pop and pour. Great dark violet color. Both the nose and the wine were closed down though. Very good balance front-mid-end. It did manage to open up a little towards the end of the bottle with a pretty amazing finish. Will let my other bottle of this sit for a few more years.

What a difference an extra year of bottle age makes with this one. Nose of blackberries and vanilla, with rich fruit, vanilla and spice on the palate, and a long finish, albeit still a bit tannic. Drink from mid-2009 on. Developing nicely, still a bit young, but a future superstar bottle, just coming into balance now.

Tasted April 16, 2008. Opened and served immediately. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of dried herbs, black licorice, florals and mixed berries. Flavors of licorice, berries and touch of raspberries on the medium finish. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium to full body. Drink or hold.

bbl sample tasted@winery: juicy, some black pepper. Kind of flabby and straightforward, good example of why this is more commonly used as a blending grape than as a single varietal wine. From med. toasted french oak, showed a lot better balance than the overtoasted, overoaked 05 cab sauv samples.

Barrel Sample. Aromas of black/red fruit, with a touch of bell pepper. Young tannins and big structure, makes this a deep and complex Cab Franc. A few years will help integrate the tannins and develop even more complexity.

No decanting...a bit of heat in the finish, but overall it has integrated very nicely. Fantastic wine.

Enjoyed this wine very much. Went well with food, good body, a lot of oak but smooth tannins. Expensive, but enjoyable.

We enjoyed this bottle, smooth-drinking with bold flavor and hint of cinnamon/clove? Not very fruity.
