This is a really nicely made, honest wine. Nose shows the fruitier, more floral side of the grape with bright red cherry and strawberry and rose notes, hints of cigar/tobacco. palate nicely acidic, mineral, big fruit, some herbal tones, and a tad sweet, and not at all marred by oak. After reading about it, I better understand the goal, and I find it admirable, if not a typical example of Nebbiolo in the modern sense. It worked quite nicely with a spicy take on chicken cacciatore.

Very unique indeed. Frizzante, light, astingent, ripe berries, dried cherries. More like a farmhouse Piemonte red (ruche, freisa, etc) than a nebb. This one may be ever so slightly corked but I am not completely sure. There is some bottle funk for sure, but it may blow off. This is geek wine and will only please those with a sense of vinous adventure. No one makes a wine like this.

DRROBVINO has this note spot on. It opens (and stays) a little fizzy, but it has an interesting profile and is not a run of the mill langhe Nebbiolo. Nice “experimental” wine that id place carefully with food and drinking companions.

Unconventional but thoroughly enjoyable, this is a lighter, more summery take on Nebbiolo.
Straight into the glass at cellar temperature, the nose is straight up cherry ice cream. With warmth and air, this settles into more of a cherry pie profile, lifted by notes of amaretto liqueur and subtle pine.
Though a gentle effervescence dissipates quickly, the wine remains fresh on the palate, keeping the body light-to-medium and brightening the fairly straightforward flavors of blackberry and plum skins. The tannins are light and well-integrated.
This is just as good at 55F as it is at room temperature.

Very pretty, nice bright acidity and some tannin dancing on the back end. Wild strawberries, herbs and flowers galore, and starting to veer towards toasted hazelnuts. Very much a nebbiolo, but distinct. Paired with ribeye, love it!

I'm going to reserve judgment on this wine until tomorrow. Any red is that is light, fragrant but slightly fizzy is a little out of the ordinary. Has a nice depth on the finish.

Quite an interesting take on Nebbiolo. I consider myself a traditionalist when it comes to wine, so I became enamored with this wine as I followed it over 3 days. Upon opening, it was a bit fizzy and foursquare, but that started to blow off over the course of the first hour. The nose showed very simple and straightforward, yet beautifully delineated, unripened red cherry fruit, tart, with a simple spice beneath the fruit, and an underlying leather or soil signature note that added complexity and made this rustic wine very interesting. Label said 13%, but I would have guessed slightly lower. The wine got better as a day or two passed. This is quite tasty, I would re-purchase in the future as a nice food wine.

This is a really good, typical Langhe Nebbiolo. It tastes just like it should. If you open it now-ish, you should do what I didn't: open, wait a few hours, and then pour. It starts out a bit fizzy, and a bit weird. It needs either air, or more time in the bottle

Delightful, I wish there were more nebbiolos of this style. Quality of the fruit seemed a solid step up from regular Langhe. This had more of a Barbaresco quality to it. Pale ruby color, with just a hint of effervescence that I could feel on my tongue, but also some fine grain tannin tightening the finish. Nose was pretty typical, rose petals and herbs, some dark red berry fruit too. I would absolutely buy more nebbiolo in this style if it were made.

To be honest I was not expecting much and really the only reason I bought a couple of bottles was because I read the wonderful book by John Hailman "Thomas Jefferson on Wine" which had his quotes on his visit to Italy and the wines he drank. But this is really a lovely little wine with pure red fruits that are enhanced by the frizzante , great acid , light with real nebbiolo character, really a nice wine with food, and picks up some depth with air. God I wish I bought more.
If anyone out their wants to get rid of any...shoot me a note.

A big hit with my wife. She likes the upfront fruit with a bit of frizzante and grip on the finish. For me the acids are a bit bright which focuses the fruit perhaps a bit too much.

Here is what Thomas Jefferson said after tasting the Nebbiolo wine of the Piedmont region of Italy in 1787. He stayed at the Hotel d'Angleterre in Turin and wrote, "There is a red wine of Nebiule made in this neighborhood which is very singular. It is about as sweet as the silky Madeira, as astringent on the palate as Bordeaux, and as brisky as Champagne. It is a pleasing wine". This description still works more or less for the Vajra wine.

This is one delightful wine made in the way perhaps wines of the Langhe were made a couple of centuries ago, light, fruity and with a bit of fizz. It is a recreation. The wine is light red, beautifully color and on the nose it is pure fruit, red and black. On the palate the tannins are there despite being a light wine. The taste is so pure. There is firm acidity also. It is a delight to drink. There is a little fizz also. It is hard to describe we there aren't many wine that are like this. Wonderful and historic. Tomorrow is Jefferson's birthday.
Even better the second night (used wine preserver but might not have needed it.). I really like this wine. There was an initial "this is weird" reaction to the fizz, as my previous review demonstrates, but after I got past that, I could drink this stuff all day long. Not that I would, mind you. Unfortunately, life's responsibilities won't allow me to be in "enjoying wine" mode all day long. But it's a nice goal! Haha
Glad I have five more bottles to enjoy and wish I'd bought a whole case.
Pale violet hue and a somewhat hot nose. The flavor is pretty classic Nebbiolo but I was very surprised when I took my first sip and found the wine was slightly but unmistakably carbonated. Not sure if the bottle was corked or refermented in the bottle but this is not generally a desirable characteristic.
I did still enjoy the wine, surprisingly, and so I'm going to rate it rather than just marking it corked, but I will report again when I open another bottle if the experience is different. I imagine that without the added carbon dioxide this might rate more highly.
