Dinner at Jade Court (Chicago, IL): The nose starts with a mild hint of reductiveness, which tends to be a good sign for me. There's a slight bit of fruit as well, and it's not the buttery, flaccid stuff that is so common. Instead, there's some real power and heft here, with a fair amount of acidity to boot. It's definitely not as good as the 2000 Boillot CC I had next to this, but there is some serious material here.

Nice full bodied Chardonnay with long lingering brioche finish. Not as lean or crisp as expected but more syrupy lemon and tropical fruit with a touch of saline. I'd start drinking these.

Medium straw color. Somewhat restrained nose showing lean tropical fruit, toasted hazelnut, lemon curd, tennis ball and white oak. Palate leans very Burgundian in style. Showing elegant and medium bodied Chardonnay. Flavor profile light honey, white flower, hints of vanilla and oak. Beautifully made and well structured. Will certainly develop with age.

That is stunningly good chardonnay. Shows a touch of the ripeness of Hudson on the front of the palate but then quite crisp and clean. 25% new french oak and 1/3 fermented in egg and a 1/3 in stainless. Darn thats great Chardonnay.

So tropical, with papaya spear, guava jelly and banana, then showing stone and steel. A gorgeous mouthfeel and such a jazzy finish. There's structure and an animal onto itself. Drink now - 2022.

Delicious. Light with subtle lemon and a hint of butter.
