My final bottle, and I still wish that I'd opened them earlier. Delicate and I suspect that it's lost some of the fruit and maybe forrest floor that I like so much in Oregon pinot.

It’s been a while but similar to previous bottles, great bouquet, but wine lacks zip, good fruit, earthy but dull, light red, smooth tannins, drank with magret of duck with potato pancakes, sort of, on to other vintages, has not developed complexity as it has aged.

In a great spot. Day 2 note. Nose of roses and cherry. Translucent appearance and no signs of age. Fresh concentrated cherry core and a touch of orange rind that gently coats the palate. Mouthwatering acidity that leads to a long, long finish. Tannins well integrated. Amazing mouthfeel for such a delicate wine.

Very Burgundian! Not a ton of complexity, but has some nice tart cherry notes to it. Will probably improve with a couple more years to develop some tertiary notes and integrate the acid and tannins a bit more.

Almost garnet in the glass, however still mildly opaque. More cherries on the nose and palate than anything else but not imposing. I think the wine is just past peak drinking window. Medium finish with mild tannins. Wouldn’t buy again at this price
Just lovely. Easily pass as Burgundian. Savigny les Beaune. The nose is mesmerizing. Palate bright red fruit integrated acid. Juicy and pretty. Tight on the finish. Will improve with a year or two in the cellar shedding tannins.

Not had this wine for 15 years at least. Pinot thin colour, earthy cherry nose with a hint of floral notes at the end. Good Pinot flavour in a Burgundian style. Youthful still and soft but with decent levels of concentration. When I last had this I think a village Beaune would have been considerably cheaper now probably not which makes this a reasonable buy.

A little disappointing but aware it was a tough vintage. Subdued nose with nothing really jumping out at you. If you dig deep you'll find some wet leaves, earth, red berries, and vanilla cola. Palate comes together rather nicely, with good acidity, very soft tannins, and decent length on the finish - just wish there was more fruit all the way around. Not great QPR and this won't improve much with age I don't think. Needs a good hour or so to reveal itself.

Brilliant clear ruby with medium optical density and medium reflectivity. Medium intensity nose with classic PN notes with decent complexity. Roses, cherry, cola, and spicy earth swirl around each other. Refreshing acidity, medium body, and a dense sappy texture on the palate, with a dry framework and structured tannins supporting a broad and layered profile. The attack shows deep cherry and red fruit with terrific intensity and interesting but straightforward complexity. The midpalate is rich and sappy, with spice and savory pork notes filling in the fruit. A lingering smoke house and earth finish has good length and intensity. Mixed red fruits, savory bacon, and spicy earth notes make for an enjoyable, varietally evocative, and some sense of personality or place (although not hugely distinct, this is Oregon all the way- not Cali cherry cola by any means, but without tons of personality).
This is a really nice wine. Drinkable and delicious, but worth some thought and savouring. Great alone or with light poultry dishes, this is a winner. Fairly priced, this is not outstanding value, but is certainly within reason, packing all the typical notes of OPN at least as well as its peers. Drinking nicely, but can be held for a couple years with some benefit I suspect.

Oregon Pinot Noir (Mark's): I liked this better than the group, but as we revealed the wines, this was our groups last place wine. Quite a disappointment I thought. The only wine with no first, second or third place votes. As I said, I thought it to be very good, I might have hoped for more as well. For around $40, it should be. The nose is tight with a bit of dust. With air it shows some nice cherry juice. On the palate, more sour cherries. Some Coke-Cola notes. It does have a nice complexity to it. Unlike most of the wines though, it seemed to fall off or shut down with air. I see no reason to suspect either of those options, so I wouldn't know what to recommend on ageing.

Identifiable Pinot Noir nose. Forest berry and dark rose petal aromas lifted above subtle layers of smoke. Very sweet vanilla oak up front. Fruit-forward. Cranberry palate. The detractor for me is that there is too much oak. I preferred the Pommard we had before this.

Has a nice acidity and tannic austere finish that indicates that this can age for a while. Even though it's medium/light bodied the tannins and oak still need time to integrate if one wants to enjoy more than a glass.
Best in the first few sips or after a day or 2 in the fridge.
Sour cherry, Hibiscus Tea, french oak and some earthiness.

Sadly, a layer of oak was excessive and distracting. We are not talking outrageous California oak here, but still enough to make the wine unbalanced. Hopefully there will be some integration over time. The wine's somewhat redeeming features were its approachability and above average aromatic intensity.

This was my second bottle; purchased the first and received this as a gift. My experience was confirmed. Meh. The color was along the lines of the salmon with which it was paired. I searched for that Oregon earth and smoke, but came up empty (again).

The color is a beautiful mix of garnet and ruby. Aromatically dynamic, floral notes with bright red fruit and spice fill the bouquet and palate. It is a mix of roses and violets with red hills earth, white pepper, red currant, cassis, light vanilla, pomegranate and warm cherry pie. On the palate, the texture is layered and complex, and the finish is quite long with well integrated tannins that will round in time.

Typical DDO Pinot noir but not as complex, earthiness, enough fruit to keep it interesting, it drinks easily, but a short finish, not much of a bouquet, light color, drank with lamb chops, will drink again, actually their generic 2013 pn might be as good.

Bright pale ruby color pinot noir. At first it shows a little iron-like finish, but vanishes in time. Needs half an hour decanting. Then it shows some sweetness, red berries, some oak. That's it. Weak nose, light body, in a good sense pure fruit but generally speaking not much to appreciate. Elegant but no back up. Simple, short finish. Definitely needs some more finesse. No good QPR.

45 mins decant. Ruby red, nice fruit aroma w/ floral & hints of spice. Fresh fruits, a bit of earthy tone, at times alcohol hot, bright acidity, med-light body, med finish. There's structure here but needs some time to settle down. Unfortunately in BC, even on sale, its C$48 tax in which is not the best QPR. I think its a well made wine, maybe bottle not showing its best yet

Light/medium red colour. Going for elegance over power, this wine is beautifully balanced. Cherry and cranberry are supported by vanilla and baking spices. Very silky mouthfeel with medium/light tannin and acidity. Good length, finishes with a nice earthy tone, which I am noticing is a Dundee signature. Drinking a touch young at the moment, it shows definite promise. www.advinetures.ca

Lighter medium ruby color. Reticent but nice notes of sweet red berries, some crushed flowers, some sweet spices, coca cola and some minerality. It's medium- bodied with medium acidity and medium tannin that is silky. Good length. A pretty, classic and colder climate style Pinot from this famous producer. I would probably give it another 2-3 years in bottle to open it up a little more. (90+)

Served with grilled ribeye steak; did not decant. As one would expect from a very young Oregon Pinot Noir of this vintage and quality, wine was initially closed in with a slight nose of roses and spices, lighter body, and medium ruby color. After it began to open up, body began to fill in, nose of roses and spices became more pronounced, moderate finish, and light tannins. This is a very good pinot noir from a good year and I will try to buy more of it.

The color is ruby red. There is a marked alcoholic bouquet. The flavor is floral with a touch of spice. The tannins are very subdued. This is a delightful wine. It is easy to drink but has some depth and complexity. I bought it to go with Thanksgiving Turkey and my wife agrees with me that it will go well with that bird.

Tasted blind. Clear, medium ruby. Clean, ripe red cherry, red currant, tart black cherry, ripe plum. The nose also has violets, dried herbs and some oaks spice. the palate is dry, nicely structured, with vibrant acidity and medium to medium (+) tannins. A great food wine, but fine by itself. A really nice value, it straddles the fence between Old World finesse and earthiness and New World fruit and oak. It is young and should continue to improve for several more years. Worth seeking out.

This is all estate fruit and dials in at 13.9% alcohol. The aromas here are redder and deeper than the prior wines. Some soil notes and dustiness. Fresh palate entry with nice bright strawberry tones. Very fresh with some soil dust. More tannic on the finish which is also quite fresh due to the acidity and light berry notes that linger. A light powdery dusty tannin lingers as well.

Really nice exuberant berry notes on the nose. Very pure expression, with light bits of soil undertones. Soft and quite light in body. Fresh berries are noted on the palate. Light and tart with just a slight hint of tannins. Mildly frothy texture. Good acidity dials up on the finish with some more slight soil tones. Very nice freshness. Nothing but tartness lingers and the slightest bit of alcohol.

Ripe yet structured, this medium ruby wine offers raspberry, cherry, black tea, earth and spice aromas. Medium-bodied, tart and with medium-weight but edgy tannins, it delivers flavors which mirror the nose. Listed as 13.9%, the wine's alcohol shows no heat. A solid middle palate leads to a lengthy, albeit somewhat astringent finish. This outstanding-quality Pinot will require a year or two in the cellar to allow its tannins to integrate. Drink 2017-2022.

A Day in the Willamette Valley (Willamette Valley, OR): Red cherries, spice and cola on the nose. Leaner fruit, more red-leaning (raspberry, cherry, cranberry). Lengthy finish, with nice acidity and fine tannins. A little thin in the mid-palate.

Light in color and body, good earthy flavor with good balance of fruit and tannin, actually tastes like a Cru Beaujolais, which is a compliment. Would drink again except it hard to get and not cheap. Drank with strip steak. Went down easy as we like this style of wine.

On the nose, dusty cherries, cedar, and toast. Cherry carries through to the palate, along with the toasted woodsy notes. Firm tannins, lovely acidity. Tastes much more new world than DDO's typical style; this more entry-level Pinot might be more fruit forward and aged on either newer oak or a heavier toast level, perhaps to give it a broader appeal. Still lovely, but less our style than their typical work.

Dundee Hills Oregon Tasting (Sunfish Cellars, St. Paul, MN): Medium red color. 2oz pour over 20 minutes. This was quite similar to the Winter's Hill Watershed. Both were youthful and had similar flavor profiles and some heat. Introverted nose, earth, red fruits. The palate shows red fruits, some smoke, wood, cherry, more heat at the end. This was my first crack at 2013. It will be interesting to see how these pan out and develop.

Cherry, earth, cedar on the nose. Subdued fruit on the palate, a little barnyard/earth mix, and hints of black pepper. Nicely integrated acidity, smooth light tannins, light to medium bodied. Very young...needs time to evolve of course. Shows lots of promise as a cooler vintage, if you enjoy that style of WV Pinot.

Drinking great, light, savory with good fruit, ok bouquet, almost translucent, what Burgundy Should taste like, drank with lamb shoulder, might drink again, liked more than Roserock.

Cherry cola with tea and hints of spice on the nose. Light but silky smooth with great acid balance. Would like more fruit but this is very French. Good cherry but too much wood.

Solid Dundee pinot from Drouhin; not great, but still nicely balanced with lots of red berry fruits. I think it will improve with a few more years in the cellar.

A little stewed on the nose. Alcohol a little too prominent and hot. Light body. Simple. Rhubarb fruit. Short. A little bitter. Pretty but far too anonymous. A disappointment.

The acidity on this is quite pronounced. Need some time to level out. Very nice nose of cherry with bits of oak. Much of that comes out on the palate, with some additional tobacco and earth notes. Should be nice with a little time.
