Opened and was underwhelmed. Corked 1/2bottle and put it in the fridge. Five days later I drank it and it had finally come into its own. This still needs serious decanting.

Similar to last bottle. No decant this time. Closed fruit on day one but more open day two. I would recommend you decant for some aeration at this point. Still fresh, pretty good balance.

Decanted 1,5h. Mellow dark fruit, dusty cocoa medium minus tannins. Nice balance. Not a lot of developed notes, not very complex. I was afraid it would be over the hill but drinking well now.

From a 375ml bottle. It has been a couple of years since I tried this. It still has good harmony for the vintage. Doesn't appear to be past prime. Beautiful color, enticing nose with an elegant finish. It is great for the QPR. 14% alcohol. To me Fronsacs are a great value for those who enjoy robust but elegant French wines. 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This is a very nice Fronsac. Still had plenty of bones...mellow tannins, long finish. Short decant (lots of sediment). We enjoyed very much as part of Christmas Eve wine selections.

Did not need a long decant to display dusty ripe black cherry and blackberry flavors with unobtrusive tannins and a medium finish. Very enjoyable over a couple of days.

This is the 5th bottle of a 6 bottle lot I bought in February 2015. This has evolved and is currently in great harmony. This is my idea of great bottle of Bordeaux. Beautiful color, enticing nose with an elegant finish. It is great for the QPR. 14% alcohol. Fronsacs are a great value for those who enjoy robust but elegant French wines. 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Paid $15

Cork pulled, bottle left in cooler at 60F for 24 hours. Nice dark fruit profile with modest acidity and medium tannins. TW says its too young. Drinking window increased.

This is the 4th bottle of a 6 bottle lot I bought in February 2015. Showing a little more maturity. Its elegant and opens up nicely. I think I have scored this slight less than the previous bottle because I am drinking it on a warm September day. It is great for the QPR. 14% alcohol. Fronsacs are a great value for those who enjoy robust but elegant wines. 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like mineral, stoniness, blackberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), violet and rose. It tastes like mint, lavender, thyme, red currant, black currant (cassis), blackberry, pine and bark. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.
Might have been a bad bottle, and don't have a twin to compare it to, but the wine was notably "corky" in flavor, with some less than desire able earth tones. Drank less than a glass and poured out the rest.

This is the third bottle of a 6 bottle lot I bought last winter. Showing a little more maturity. More balanced than the previous 2 bottles. Lovely wine for a cool Saturday in December. 14% alcohol. 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Dark fruits, and a slight metallic, dusty note on the tongue with a long, tannic finish. Quite tasty, but I think the fruits and tannins on this one will make it even better after a few more years in the cellar. Unfortunately, I only have the one left but it will be interesting to try that one out 3-5 years from now.

Surprisingly accessible at this stage with only a short decant. Medium body and acidity featuring open plum and currant fruit with enough tannins for balance, but on the softer side. I got an odd finish (sharp with glycerin texture), which caused me to score a point lower.

A beautiful showing today. Dust and mineral driven. Blackcurrant and sanguine notes throughout. Gritty mouthfeel, interesting texture, seductive finish. Great wine!
14% alcohol. Great right bank bordeaux for the price. Complex and balanced. Great easy drinking wine. Will be interesting to see how this evolves over the next couple of years. Got on sale for $14/bottle.

Noticeable Fronsac dust this time, with a pronounced sanguine element common to Tuscan Sangiovese and Bandol. Tasted blind, and guessed Tuscan blend or Bandol. Good structure and grip. Very nice.

Fruity, blackberry, earthy nose. Fruity, slightly astringent front. Tannic, acidic and slightly bitter finish, although less bitter, more fruity the second day. Very dry. Decanted for 2-1/4 hrs., chilled for 23 mins.

Tobacco leaf, red plum and cedar on the nose. Still a bit tight and undeveloped; I think this needs a couple of years to open up, and it has great potential.

Pleasant Merlot driven bouquet, though nothing stood out. Stalwart palate that features very good depth, balance, grip, and finish. Fronsac dustiness seemed absent. Nice wine, moderate QPR.

Classic Fronsac nose and palate of dark red fruit and graphite. Good, grippy tannins, if a wee bit overboard with the oak for my tastes (almost new world in that respect). Still, and excellent value at ten bucks a half bottle and perfect for the train. Solid.

Had a Magnum bottle. Drank it over a couple of days. Used a decanter the first day. The wine is in perfect drinking window (at least from a magnum).
Medium legs, and smooth finish, but little fruit or anything notable.
