OK. I admit it. I love this wine! Its just so flavorful, fun, chipper and cheerful (bright berry cherry) I could drink a whole bottle by myself (hey, get away, you already had your small pour.....). Continuing to drink really nicely.

Shockingly good Rosso for the price, and for its age. Still has life to it, though for my taste it seems to be at its peak now. Nicely balanced, with a bit of a chocolate undercurrent on the palate.

I had only picked up one bottle of this wine from the Garagiste five years ago and didn't know what to expect but thought it would pair nicely with a turkey meatball with creamy tomato/vodka sauce pasta dish. Popping and pouring immediately from the cellar did it an initial injustice but it opened and warmed noticeably within 15 minutes. Modest nose but bright, cherry fruit on the palate with a long finish. Ample acidity for the pasta sauce.

Ok, so now we are finally talking. After two iffy bottles this was my idea of a fresh but distinctive Sangiovese. lovely intense, crunchy red cherry and plum fruit with loads of acidity but also a little polish. A great food wine, but also tasty just to sip. Quite delicious.

Better than the last bottle. Vibrant, juicy racy sangiovese. Came across as maybe a little too racy. Hints of VA? Plenty tasty, used most for cooking will revisit tomorrow.

A lovely combination of power and elegance. The fruit is showing signs of maturity, with dried cherry note flavors and pressed rose aromas at the fore, and just a bit of that earthy Sangiovese character on the back end. The tannins feel resolved, but the acidity is still present, suggesting that this will age well for at least a couple more years, although I would say it's at its peak drinking now.

All good thing must, eventually come to an end. Whether it's through time, available resources ($$, vacation days, etc) we attempted to end this vacation on a high note and chose this wine from the local trattoria -with their strong support. Thank you!
Huge nose of earth, dark fruit, spice, honey and fig, on the palate the big sweet tannins linger forever. Balanced, rich, long finish. Great way to wrap it up! I'm looking for this in the States when I get home and buy a few bottles if I can find them.

Right out of the bottle, this was a winning wine for me. Definite classic, old world character with a real sense of place. I found it a bit tight and closed to start, but it slowly unwound. It's not a heavy wine, it has a firm texture with tight tannins at the start. Over time, the fruit and acidity came through revealing much more expression. I saved half for Day 2 and this was really good the second day. I don't agree with the person who said it was over the hill and in decline. For my next one, I will decant a full 4-6 hours before consuming. An excellent value and fantastic pairing with classic Italian dishes...mine was homemade Eggplant Parm.

Ruby color fading to pink, medium plus viscosity; slightly oxidative on the nose, with a bit of alcohol heat (15%), blueberry, dark cherry, plum; on the palate leads with cherry, plum, red fruit, some forest floor and leather, meaty flavors emerging; modest tannins, good acid. I fear the alcohol may be obscuring some of the earthy, leathery flavors in favor of its fruit; moreover, the oxidative elements make me think I may have gotten to this just a bit too late, and should drink up the rest of the stash now. I like the rustic presentation, but if I'm honest I find the alcohol a bit much in this context.

Quite light in color. The perception on the palate is somewhat fuller than the visual would suggest, given a resinous backend that extends the finish. The palate is lighter on entry / midpalate, with medium fruit depth against a slightly earthy subtext. Appropriate acidity provides a balanced counterpoint. Excellent QPR. Not sure what to say about aging. My sense is that for me, the wine today is lively and balanced...I'm not sure what I'd be waiting for if I held these longer.

A bit heavier on the fruit than other Rosso wines I have had. Improved its balance after about an hour, and better with food than alone as the cherry notes went well with the somewhat spicy food we were eating

Delicious. Incredibly fresh. Seems to be at prime drinking stage now. If this turns into something more full-bodied, don't deprive yourself of the pleasure this wine gives in its youth. Let the years fall on the Brunello.

Delicious and pretty easy drinking. Cherry and herbs all the way through, with a touch of tannin and a good dose of chalky minerality. Nose had a nice meaty quality to it also.

Medium bodied, ruby violet in color. Tame nose with some red fruit and floral notes. Nothing outstanding on the palate, yet very balanced and pleasant to drink. Mostly light red fruits, decent acidity, some minerality. Nothing real special, but not at all bad for the price point.

Bitter cherries on the nose, medium body, medium+ tannins, and a dry finish. Hides its 15% alcohol very well. Showed signs of breaking down after 20+ minutes when the heat began to creep up on the finish. Excellent QPR. Cork was falling apart in several places so I would drink these sooner than later. 87-88

Very closed on opening, but developed over time. Brick-red, it is has a great structure with nice spice, good fruit, balanced tannin. It is probably a little young (and perhaps still in shock from the journey to the cellar), but has great promise. Phenomenal QPR.
