High quality and with plenty of life remaining. Subdued initially but opened up gradually. Smoky (in a good way) and white stonefruits. Good length. Everything in balance and great value.

I’ve never had a bad Hoddles Creek Chardonnay, no matter how many years it’s aged from vintage, but they do benefit from having some years under their belts. Stone fruits, sweet citrus, ginger, minerality, nuts, body, creaminess, balance, yum, impressive length and notable intensity on the finish.

Evolved over an hour or so. Fairly closed initially but opened up beautifully. White peaches on the nose which flows to the palate, a nice wash of acid and a juicy flinty finish. Phenomenal value.

This had been open almost four hours and was about half gone before it gave glimpses of the body and complexity that awaits in years to come. I expect it will be at its peak in four years and drink well for many years after that.

30 minute decant. Pale yellow in colour. Minor citrus nose, bread. Sweet citrus palate, minor lime, light mid palate, dry finish. Easy drinking readily accessible and good value. Top quaff ability. No noticeable oak for those looking for immediate satisfaction, delectable, desirable at the price.

Citrus, stone fruits, melon. Lovely palate weight with good balance of acid definition and fruit sweetness. It opens out with time in the glass. Lovely drinking.

This is a cracking wine for its price with a bold, buttery nose of spice oak, pear and yellow peach. The palette is big and luscious with a spicy mineral, punch acid and some really ripe peach and citrus.

Flowers, citrus, vanilla, struck match. Good cut of acid and impressive length. Slippery. Spot on chardy. Additional note after 1/3 of bottle spent three nights in fridge: Incredible richness of flavour, no harm putting this away for a few years. Bumped score up from 91 to 92 and wouldn't be surprised to see this rating even higher in five years..

Medium lemon. Lime, vanilla, spice, white flower. Good mouthfeel. Intense citrus fruit and a wash of fresh acid. Good line and length. Didnt improve much on day two. A good value wine, but to me, preferring richer chardonnays, it didn't quite live up to the considerable hype.

Quite tight and young, but still good. Not too buttery or oaky, more mineral and fruit driven. Yum.

Lemon, lime, straw. The palate gives lime and ginger ale characters. Holds up well the following day too.

Great VFM and will improve if you can keep your hands off it. I couldn't :-)

It's one of those wine that you just sit back and enjoy. Ripe pear, ginger and a touch of butterscotch. Enjoyed with roast chicken.

Very, very solid for $19. Very pale in colour.
Struck match, minerals, hint of lemon juice, grapefruit and a little toasty oak. Light weight but silky texture and very good length.
Stands up well against wines double the price and I can't think of another Chardonnay that stacks up for the price....Kooyong Clonale maybe.
