this bottle still seemed to have good life in it. a bit more of a cola note than i think of with oregon pinot, while also having good weight and length. drink now, or hold for the short term.

Powerful nose with hints of cola, smoke, dark cherry, wet earth, cedar. Slight bricking, body has a hint of salinity, peppery mid palette. Med length finish. In a good spot.

high quality well made pinot, but not made to my taste. rather sharp acidity, even sour to the taste at least at first, biting my tongue. I significantly prefer the smoothness and depth of pinots from penner ash or j.k. carriere. this is not bad wine, just overly sharp for me personally. my wife liked it. for me a really nice pinot is the 2013 penner ash shea vineyard, but at twice the price of this of course. preferable at about the same price is a 2012 or 2011 penner ash, but not from shea. of course i am really a cab sav drinker.

Good richness on the nose, evolving ripe Pinot fruits, nice definition with a metallic note; smooth and flavoursome, not sweet, quite svelte, a very Burgundian new world Pinot though a little heat on the finish betrays its origins. Very fine.

Extremely prertty on the nose. Chambolle like. Palate is well structured. With good fruit (cherry, cranberry, raspberry) and nice backbone. Really impressed by this.

Subtle richness on the nose- much more primary fruit than the Cristom Mt Jefferson from the same vintage; pretty and bejewelled. Fine, needs some time to develop.

Opened and decanted 1 hour before dinner of grilled whole chicken and mango-white bean salad. Musty nose with lots of earthy minerals, raspberries, and dried cherries. The palate is medium bringing bitter cherries, tart strawberries, and leafy greens. The finish is tart and unresolved, but there is a nice puckery streak in this wine that works with food. Drink 2015-2020.

Classic Oregon Pinot nose, mouthfeel is light, but packs berry flavor and an earthy note, medium finish. Really impressed with this wine, first from this producer.

Taste: Very pretty medium body with medium/high acidity that is very noticeable. The structure certainly lets itself be known along with elegant tones of chinese 5-spice, red cherries, floral tones and some dark red fruits.
Overall: This is a beautiful and feminine pinot. While it is medium bodied, it has a lighter touch and a real prettiness to it. It will need some time to fully show itself and it could really turn into something with time.

Being "Flighty" at the Wine Bar (Sunfish Cellars, St. Paul, MN): Dark red color. 2oz pour over an hour. This was tasty and a bit understated in a good way. Earthy on the nose with red fruits, the palate is dark cherry, deeper, medium finish. 13.2%.

Nice development starting to appear on the nose now; a little sweet on the palate, nice wine but not as appealing as Cristom Mt Jefferson.

Red fruit nose. Red fruit in the mouth, fading towards minerality before finishing tart. Well made but ultimately another disappointing 2011.

Willamette Valley Wines presents: Pinot in the City (City Winery, Chicago, IL): Nose: There is a very fragrant and hi-toned quality to the nose with tones of chinese 5-spice, red cherries, red berries, and wild flowers. There is very good depth to this with some good nuance as well.
Taste: Very pretty medium body with medium/high acidity that is very noticeable. The structure certainly lets itself be known along with elegant tones of chinese 5-spice, red cherries, floral tones and some dark red fruits.
