Medium dark red; dense fruit, licorice; sweet notes, a mild bite / mild tannins, long deep cherry-like aftertaste while still being “just” a bit straightforward; very likeable, believe it is at its peak right now, no need to keep

Merlot and Malbec take center stage for the first time in the 2009 Claret. Dark purple in color, aromas of blackberry, plum, and graphite escape for the glass. A fresh beam of minerality supports the rich mid- palate while a frame-work of silky tannins, mocha, and boysenberry linger in the finish.

Medium dark red, nice pleasant blueberry nose with some acidity; really nice, soft, pleasant, slightly spiced black pepper, light tannins, power - but not too much; does require some air so do decant; really good

Upon opening, a very plush blackberry/plum nose with mint and cassis. On the attack the blackberry jam was infused with strawberry with dark chocolate notes carried the unjammy, balanced tannins to a light stone and tobacco-hinted finish. Excellent.

Nice earthy mouth feel. Dark fruit that lingers on the palate. First of this I have tried. I think it needs a good bit of time to open up. I like this one.

Popped and poured through a vinturi. Inviting approach with a melding of soft purple berries, nectarine and buttery crust flavors. Full mouth feel feel with soft tannins and lengthy finish. Oak was barely detectable. An easy drinking claret.

Spectacular, once it had time to open. Blackberry, cassis and plum on the palate. Layers of complexity and a medium finish of toasty oak and mocha.

Tannin bomb. Masked the fruit. Didn't like it very much.

Dark fruit, cocca, pepper spice, dry oak on the finish. Little young. Tannins overwhelm the finish B
