15% ABV. Medium yellow gold. Tropical fruit, honeydew, acacia, herbs, almond, anise, and pebbly minerality. Full-bodied, with a full, smooth, oily texture, lowish acidity, and very good length. Lightly bitter finish. More about texture than fruit, naturally. Started to show best after 90 minutes of aeration in a small decanter. Mature, with no upside, but will keep.

Fine barely golden robe. Circumspect upon opening. With air plenty of stone fruit, acacia, warm stone, and garrigue on the nose. Plate is concentrated, finely texture with excellent richness balanced by a bit of phenolic bitterness. Excellent length and layered lotus blossom like finish. Excellent with fish quenelles in mage with caviar. Better still with sweetbreads and mushrooms. Re-buy? Lord, in a minute!

Tight and oily upon opening. After 45mn, this was a totally different wine with much more energy and zip to it on the palate. Dried fruits, honey and floral notes along a nice chalky touch. Broad on the palate but the air really brings up the acidity. This cuvee is really one of the top CDP blanc.

Brought to drink at Oinoscet during afternoon service. The wine shows medium intensity in the nose, with ripe white fruit, stone fruit, floral notes, light earthy and waxy notes. Smooth in the palate, medium body, ripe citrus and stone fruit, low to medium acidity, a spicy hue in the medium finish. The wine needs to open up. Vibrant and beautiful

This was just spot on. Stood up to a lot of wines that were a lot more expensive. There was a nice freshness note, a bit of honey and a touch of almost crisp (at least as far as a white rhone can be). Really tasty.

Tasted over 2 hrs and on day 3 -translucent light/med gold -waxy/lanolin floral spicy slightly oxidized -waxy linear floral med+ weight with pronounced bitter streak; more complex with honey notes and a bit medicinal on day 3 -complex, interesting, mature but not over the hill

From 750ml. Markedly better than the bottle last year. A fresh and surprisingly vibrant Southern Rhone white, not at all heavy or tired. Floral and stone notes complicate the core of almond-infused lanolin. Well done.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of camphor, talc, yellow pear and yellow apple. Flavors of lemon, yellow pear and Granny Smith apple. Bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold.

Chateauneuf du Pape (Bronte, Sydney): very pale. Lightly fragrant tropical fruits, some lanolin and honey. Delicate, appears tightly coiled although not especially intense. Pleasing ripe fruit flavours of modest intensity, not a lot of length or zip on the finish. Not convinced it will evolve but perhaps in a dumb phase.

Opened at Nice Matin, NYC. Decanted and served immediately. After 1/2 hour this has blossomed into a beautiful wine. Elegant aromas of chamomile, wet river stones and dried honeycomb on the nose, with a pleasant tension of savory floral oils and nectar on the palate. Not heavy or viscous like some white chateauneuf wines; a balanced, pure expression of the region that is the hallmark of the estate in most years. Finally showing its pedigree. A real treat.

I'm not sure that I can better the note by NineteenEightyTwo only to concur that this is on great form. Surprisingly pale. No oxidation. No excessive alcohol--unlike the 2006 consumed a few days ago. Weighty, lemony and long. Excellent.

Medium-light straw color. This had a pronounced minerality that dominated the nose, though tenacious sniffing teased out faint nectar and lychee aromas. The palate was similarly strong in the rocks department, but also incorporated a subtle exoticism. This had me envisioning an imaginary jungle full of weird fruits and strange spices, like an Henri Rousseau painting. Despite its heft, this finished with a clean, firm acidity indicating several more years of potential evolution. Still, it is an impressive and memorable wine to drink today.

Dec 28th 2013 Annual Holiday CDP Tasting at the Edina Country Club: Light, youthful color and fresh lively aromas but disturbingly advanced with some strange mid palate flavors (almost cardboard-like), but also some pretty flowers and peach pit, but the second pour livens up after a few hours of being opened. Nice acids.

Annual Holiday CDP Tasting: Epic & Stunning Wines Featuring a trio of 2001's (Edina, MN): Light gold color. PNP, drank 1+ glass, over an hour plus. Nose is very nice with dry earth, smoke, pear, white peach, honey, and a slightly buttery note. There was a shoe polish/varnish note that emerged later. The palate has medium body, roasted nuts, apple, subtle peach. This seemed to fade somewhat in glass, but a second pour 90 minutes later was back on top. This was very nice, with a lovely nose that exceeds the palate at this point. We all the had the impression that this was a little past peak and probably on the downswing. Drink up.

This seemed a little oxidated in the nose but good to drink. Lots of lemon and peach with flowers. Long. Quite heavy bodied and thick. This did not appeal to all - an unexpected wine in the line-up - but I felt it was quite attractive.

Light gold color. Not much on the nose upon opening, thus decanted before serving. In the mouth looks like still somewhat shut down. Good length and minerality, at the same time some acidity. I will wait 1-2 years until opening my last bottle.
Robe or pâle.

Agreed with those who say this is shut down. Confused about how it tasted basically like watered down bourbon. The only fruit note I got was a hint of apple. Will wait at least a year until I open another.

Pale color. Not much to show upon opening. Later developing a refined fresh nose and a full-bodied mouth with reminiscences of white fruits. Very good but should have been decanted, will improve in the years to come.

1998 CdP tasting at Il Corso, NY. Seem closed/tight. I get green pear on the palate. Decent minerality. Asher says that this wine reminds him of apple-juice which is spot on. A bit heady. Either this bottle is flawed or it is just a plain out uninteresting wine. Not enjoyable.

Pale lemon/light gold. Initially a touch sweaty on the nose. Eventually opened up to show a nicely developing grassy bouquet with a hint of lemon curd and a nutty edge. There is also a hint of minerality here which bodes well. Clean gentle lemon fruit on the front with hazelnut in the middle and finish. A lovely lanolin texture and although warm in the finish it's certainly not hot. Later a hint of lychee found its way into the mix. Drinking beautifully now, but should develop well over a number of years if you like the rancio note that seems to come with age.
