Deep ruby color. Wonderful nose with raspberry, sweet tobacco, and strawberry starburst. Medium-plus body, medium-plus tannins, medium-to-medium-plus acid. Gorgeous fruit on the palate with sweet cherries that become darker (plums, blackberries) with time in the class. Picking up some coffee mid-palate along with some cherry cola. Wonderful, though pricy.

Dense, blackish-red, burly wine. Maturing flavors, but still very structured with some astringence to the tannin. Dark fruit, roasted bell pepper, really a mouthful. Needs another 5-10 years to resolve the tannin. Or perhaps some well-marbled animal fat. Interesting that other notes here describe the wine as fully resolved - wish that had been the case here.

Stunning. Tannins just silky smooth now alongside beautiful purity of fruit - classic blackberry and plum, dark fruits, some spice. In a great spot right now.

Served with a smoked brisket and alongside a 2003 Monte Bello; the nose here is classic; definitely get some oak notes of vanilla, menthol, mocha, underlying is rich cassis, earthy notes, violet, and a bit of cigar wrapper; the palate here is plush and rich, but still has lovely balance, very good depth, and a lasting finish. This is drinking quite well right now, but has plenty of life and development ahead. A classic Diamond Creek

This wine was perfectly open and expressive. Was one of the finest cabs drank this year. Layered red fruits and a nuanced stone notes on the finish. Not jammy, not hot, just right. Worth drinking now if you have them.

14.1% abv. Dark purple. Cassis, cedar but with some green/savoury aromas as well: green bell pepper, rosemary. Perfumed. Very tannic still + strong acidity. Overall a bit on the austere side. Think this needs 10+ yrs.

An outstanding wine. Great nose of dark fruit, bramble with a hint of spice. In the glass it is a dark garnet. Aforementioned dark fruit, smoky meat, leather in complete balance. A long finish and fantastic complement to the Christmas Eve beef tenderloin. The best of an 06 Dominus and 07 Larkmead.

I took this in my hold luggage out to the US to open on the first night of our vacation with friends! I have to say it was truly sensational. Everything was just so well balanced with an incredible finish. This is drinking so well although has many years left ahead of it. Unfortunately that was my only 2003!

Wonderful wine! Served side-by-side a Caymus '08, and this was clearly a more complex wine. Garnet colored; moderate sediment. Aromas of flint, mineral, stone. Medium body. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. My only '03...can't wait for my '09's to be ready!

(From a 375ml bottle at the winery) Dusty earth notes at first which give way to cassis, black currant, and black cherry. Sage and cedar emerge with more air. Very well balanced with mouth watering acidity and well integrated tannins. Beautiful wine with years to go.

Made from mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with just a little dash of Petit Verdot this wine is deep purple in colour. The nose shows good fruit character encased in oak. The palate shows lots of berry fruit, especially cherry, and a certain smokiness. Well rounded tannins. Good, but very expensive!
Tasted in the Grand Tasting at the 10th Decanter Fine Wine Encounter, Landmark Hotel, London.
