Friday, April 5, 2024 - Bright young red-purple color, at first opening an assertive but broad nose of blackberry and cherry fruit with a wonderful complexity of floral notes, on the palate fine depth, mid-weight dark berry-driven fruit leading into a long and slightly peppery austere finish, with time the fruit develops a punchy character ala 2006 red burgundy, the finish settles a bit with time but still indicates this is going to demand 3 or so years for resolution, robust, seamless, the remains of the bottle 3 days later (no preservation techniques applied) were surprisingly vibrant, a very promising Spatburgunder- one of the finest I have ever tried.
