Sunday, April 28, 2024 - Deep saturated ruby. Bursting with black fruit, flowers, and herbs. Medium weight, gorgeous suave texture with deep soil base. Vivid, ripe blackberry and blueberry, licorice, fine acidity, and round unobtrusive tannins. I have been critical of this cuvée before, but this is as good an example as I’ve had. This is the third 2020 Mugnier wine I’ve tried, and the depth and volume of fruit in all of them have been breathtaking. No need to decant during this fruit forward stage.
