Sunday, April 21, 2024 - Many of the 2019's are in a bit awkward stage in my opinion and I think this bottle typified that current trend. This was a good bottle of wine, but I found it to be somewhat restrained. Rich color, a purple dark reddish with a pleasing nose. Palate: Dark berry and cherry fruits, boysenberry, currants, tobacco and some acidity. Composed of 95.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Cabernet Franc, 1.9% Merlot and 0.4% Petit Verdot. This wine was consumed over a period of about 3 days and all were Coravin pours. The first was given very little air and although I could detect some potential underlying elements in the wine, the substance that I hoped for never showed. Despite giving it some air, on days 2 and 3, the results were pretty much the same. I enjoy Cabs from Sonoma/ Alexander Valley but for now, I believe cellaring will help this vintage, better days lie ahead. 90+/91? Points.
