Thursday, May 14, 2020 - This particular vintage of this red blend is dominated by 44% Tempranillo, and also is comprised of a handful of Bordeaux varietals, as well as a little bit of Sangiovese. When we first tasted it several years ago, it was great, but pretty clear it needed a little time in the bottle. Well, patience paid off. Popped and poured this tonight, and it was singing! Bursting with fruit on the nose- black cherry, raspberry, cherry cola, and a hint of cotton candy. The palate followed suit, with some additional black and red fruits; even throw in a hint of toffee. It continued to evolve in the glass, but this wine drank very smooth from start to its, long finish. Still quite a bit of tannins; this wine should easily drink well for several years to come, but I don't think that it will get too much better than the place it is right now.
