Sunday, April 13, 2014 - Drank from a magnum. A dark inky core with brownish rim showing maturity. Pop & pour it shows a funky nose with cola, red fruits, earth and leather. Still barnyard dominance nose with some roasted coffee character after 1+ hours.
It has a leathery palate with plenty of tart red fruits and sweet barnyard notes. Smooth and soft but it is a little lean for a Barossa Shiraz. Tart aftertaste with spicy undertones and soft tannins. Intensity gradually built up at mid-palate but still short of a good finishing. Pretty boring to drink it alone but this is not good enough for me to bring out and share with friend. Not a wine that I would buy again. (88)

Second day is more enjoyable, less funky barnyard notes and showing more fruits both on the nose and palate. Finishes well with spicy and sweet fruits aftertaste. (89)
