Sunday, May 4, 2014 - Served with grilled lamb chops. Double decanted about an hour before serving. Wine was completely closed in with suggestive nose, good mouth feel, but little in the way of consistent flavors. Will try again on second day. I think this wine needs at least a couple of years to begin emerging. NR

Much better the second day. Nose opened up to reveal dark cherry, spice, and leather, full mouth feel, soft tannins in the finish. The slight bitterness in the finish from day one had disappeared. Good length. This is going to be a very good Ribera del Duero, but does need some time. I will try again in 2-3 years. Served with grilled steak Florentine.
