Sunday, December 2, 2012 - Popped and poured. This pinot started off unlike any other Rhys I’ve had with a very strong, really off-putting nose of smoke and sandalwood in the first glass. Fortunately that blew off after not too long and integrated much more on the nose and palate to provide a complementary mix of smoke, dark cherry, burnt embers, sandalwood, stems and spice notes. Overall, this can be enjoyed now but probably would benefit from a short decant. 90-91 pts.
