Tuesday, November 7, 2023 - Drank this on my 25th wedding anniversary and it was magnificent. We drink this wine every year and this was the best bottle in over a decade. Strong dark red color in the glass, just the slightest bricking at the rim. Nose is fantastic: wonderful depth of California fruit but the complexity of the secondary elements is what makes this exceptional with dark chocolate, blackberry, charcoal, cedar with a hint of espresso lurking in the background. All of these are very well integrated so that the wine is both interesting and balanced. Super long finish that allows the more savory elements to linger on the palate. Excellent showing of a strong vintage.
