Tasted December 22, 2008.

Opened and splash decanted about 15 minutes before serving. Followed over the next 3 1/2 hours. Dark garnet turning towards purple color in the glass, fairly clear hut throughout. Nose of plums and black raspberries right up front followed by some notes of black cherries and a little bit of briar patch. Picked up a little caramel around the 1 hour mark that quickly faded. Palate seemed fairly closed (could have been just tight but I doubt it) with mostly Bing cherries dominating with some added notes of red raspberries. Fairly high acidity, medium tannins, light to medium body. Short finish. The wine aromas and palate never waivered over the 3 1/2 hours. I'd normally say drink this entry level wine sometime over the short to medium term but I'm not sure if a little time might help to perk it up a little. I'll try another bottle in 2009 and report back.
