Sunday, August 25, 2019 - At Lalimes in Berkeley. Served blind to Walter Michael and Charles along side the 2001 version of this. 3 hour decant for both bottles. Maroonish red in color. Floral cedar nose. Dark fruit in the mouth particularly dark cherries and blackberries. A touch of acidity with complexity on the finish. Likely to be in a 3 year peak period, but should last a few years after that. Most guesses were Bordeaux or California Cab, but I believe Walter said Super Tuscan right before the unveiling. Well done snd an excellent wine.
