Saturday, August 15, 2015 - The wine has a medium intensity ruby color.
On the nose the wine is developing with a medium(+) intensity. Aromas of black fruit - cassis and plum, tobacco, leather, stable, horse skin, mud, decaying leaf, forest floor, oak, coffee, cedar wood and a hint of green bell pepper. Classic Bdx-nose.
On the palate the wine is dry with a medium(+) acidity, body and tannins. The tannins are really robust and grippy. The intensity is medium(+) with flavors of cassis, plum, dark cherry, oak, cedar wood, coffee, tobacco, leather and green bell pepper. The finish is medium(+).
I was 100 percent Bordeaux, right bank, early 2000 on this one. After all that wasn't that bad of a guess. I've only tasted Tignanello in it's youth and never liked it. Clearly it needs a good amount of aging cause this one is really great! In a perfect drinking-phase right now.
