Tuesday, February 21, 2012 - Medium red with amber bricking. This needs serious open time for the nose to develop. First pour had some interesting barnyard funk. This blew off and then good cigar tobacco, and then some sweet spicy pipe tobacco (you all know the difference). Also some oak and faint herbal notes. And subdued red fruit. Good sangiovese dominated grapes here. Pretty well balanced with acidity carrying through the finish of soft/medium tannins.
