Popped and poured, gave small aeration with seive. Fine sediment. Orange hue. Mature Barolo once again in a prime spot. Tannins not too big but present. Lots of soft cherries with good secondaries, beautiful nose, and in a great place tonight. Went well with homemade roasted veggie pasta sauce. Need to buy more of these aged Barillas to restock my celler. Still rocking on night two with it only being recorked.

Decanted and shared w/wine group dinner. Lovely old mature Cabernet. Definitely some age on this puppy but still alive. Still some in there with the secondaries. A little dirty but fun to drink. Much better than the last bottle which seemed a bit thin. Notable bricking, little sediment. Tannins soft. Great QPR.

Ride to a wine dinner with friends. My favorite red of the night. Double decanted. Minimal breaking. Plenty of sediment. Little angular and punchy on first pour. Several hours later settled down nicely. Lots of earth on the nose still bright fruit and fresh acidity on palate. Good complexity on taste. good with food. Tannins still notable. Much more refined on night too, still very much alive. A joy to drink. Plenty of life left in it.

Brought this to a birthday dinner at a restaurant, popped and poured tonight. Nice subtle brambly fruity nose. Still dark in the glass with no evidence of bricking. Is there such a thing as a reserved flavor profile for a Isosceles? More secondary flavors on this. Still some fruit but savory notes were noted throughout. Nice mouth feel with refined tannins that did not obstructing. Pared well with the bar style food. I guess there’s a reason why people drink these younger for the big fruit but still enjoyable tonight.

PNP at restaurant. Paired with amazing steak ensemble at Rare Society tonight. Minimal sediment, still plenty of fruit on the nose. Some secondary notes present on pallet and nose but still new world dominant and while not a wow wine still enjoyable. Tannins still appreciable and paired well with the red meat fare. Pnp tables side at an Italian restaurant. We let sit open standing for an hour. It really shined tonight. Dark cherries, earth and space with good good length in the mouth. Well integrated tannins and no flaws. Solid Brunello. Nice marriage with the Italian fare. Wish we had more of these but I’ve finished my trio that I had. Better every time we open one. Long life ahead.

Pnp. Crumbly business end of the cork. Still alive n well. Mildly reticent nose of earth and dark red fruits and some funk. Palate still had good fruit with graphite and some structure to handle the grilled rib-eye. Hit its peak with in an hour and then started to soften around the edges. Came in second tonight as we drank it along side an 07 Conn Valley Cab.reserve whose fruit stood a tad brighter thru the night.

Stood up 2 hours before out of cellar. Pnp at local Italian restaurant. Mature Brunello in a good place. Mushrooms, sour cherries , earth and spice dancing in my glass. Still good red fruits upfront. Good secondaries and plenty of structure to handle the bolognese fare. Great alone to start and good with our dinners. Definitely softening up several hours into the meal but still enjoyable. Agree with the previous notes. Nice mature Bordeaux in a good place tonite. Popped and poured tableside, cork did crumble at the business and so had it sieved into a decanter. A bit tight on its initial offering. Eventually opened up with dark black fruits and earthy tones. Tobacco, cedar very nice palate, front to back. Nice mouthfeel. Tannins present but just enough to give it good structure. Good with food. Looking forward to my 2000 and my ‘99 versions. Drink now with a short decant or hold.
