8/6/2017 - kennyg wrote: 88 pointsFruit has faded a bit and not much structure or acidity to support what remains. What is left is pleasant, albeit a bit hot with 14.6%. Did not come close to a 2013 ROAR Pisoni, that we quickly switched over to drinking. These wines are better younger. |

7/31/2016 - kennyg Does not like this wine: 88 pointsUnfortunately I opened this bottle at a nice restaurant and despite a two hour decant it was largely undrinkable. Currently a tannic monster. Has tremendous potential as a hyper-concentrated big red. Would wait at least 5 years and this could be really good. Very sad I committed infanticide on a not inexpensive bottle. |

3/15/2015 - kennyg wrote: 89 pointsStill a bit of life. Crazy old bottle with about 10% gone due to ullage. Even a touch of fruit remaining, but mostly oxidized and reasonably pleasant. A real treat once the cork was finally full removed. |

10/18/2014 - kennyg Likes this wine: 94 pointsBrought this to a Nuevo Mexicano restaurante and wow, great pairings. Went well with spicy beef dishes. Nicely integrated tannins with well preserved fruit. A little heat, but not offensive. Sl overpaid at San Diego wine bank but Pax is now a real collector's item and this bottle proves why. Crazy good. |

7/13/2014 - kennyg wrote: 88 pointsColor shows age. Nose slightly maderized. Open up a bit over an hour in glasses. Fruit is gone and slight astringency remains. After overnight under vacuum pump, not bad next morning; tastes more sangiovese than cab at this point. Past prime but not flawed. Drinkers who like much older domestic cabs may still find pleasure in this bottle. |
