4/2/2024 - Vinobc Likes this wine: 94 pointsFour years since our last bottle, this is the last of 3 we bought from Barbara’s living room. Color has faded from purple to brown-garnet. Plum nose with a hint of barrel, the bottle was slow-oxed for 2 hours. Fading fruit on the palate, this was truly excellent. |

3/29/2024 - Charlie C wrote: 79 pointsDark red with fading at the edges. Green and funky on the nose even after being open for 90 minutes. Plums and cherries on the palate. Sharp tannins, hot, decent acidity, bit out of balance. Finishes short and harsh. Past prime. Bought from winery and stored under good conditions. |

3/29/2024 - AllRed wrote: 93 pointsOur final bottle, double decanted off its sediment and poured 1.25 hrs laters. Brick red color showing age. A worn leather note opens the show, giving way to black cherry and red plum aromas. Plush and integrated, with flavors of red fruit, plum, coffee and cherry cordial, finishing with good length. One taster guessed Bordeaux, others red blends but DR correctly identified merlot. Fully mature with no benefit to cellaring further. Drink now. |

2/24/2024 - AllRed wrote: 92 points4th Saturday Brown Bagger (EBCC): Blind. Faded garnet color with some bricking. Tobacco, earth, currants and licorice notes. Medium-bodied and fully-integrated, showing black fruit and spice flavors. Picks up a molasses quality as it breathes in the glass. WOTF for a few of the group. I did not pick this out as our Paloma. 92-93 pts. |

11/10/2023 - MinnesotaNice Likes this wine: 90 pointsPnP. In a good spot, but improved slightly over the hour or so it was consumed. Has some life left in it to be sure. Strongly recommend a decant or pass through a screen filter - significant amount of gelatin-like sediment present in every bottle I’ve opened. |

7/4/2023 - mflesh wrote: 94 pointsMy last one of this vintage. Almost 3 years since the last. CellarTracker says drink by 2024 but this one is JUST starting to get rolling IMO. Pours a light violet color to the glass. Nose is beautiful black cherry cola and herbs. The tiniest bit of age on the nose that carries over to the palate. On the front, a ROBUST amount of black cherry, oregano, complex, acidic front yet well integrated, brambly middle and finishes with a cola and cherry twizzler note. Went very well with herbed lean grass fed beef burger with goat cheese and arugula with lemon mayo. Herbal brambly burger, red fruit cola Merlot with a bit of age showing....what a nice combo. Wish I had a couple more of these! |
