Pretty close day 1, much better day 2. At first I didn't think this was good enough to cellar but day 2 changed my mind. Tannins and slight juicy acidity showed up so for $30 maybe worth laying some down. Anybody had these past vintages at 8yr mark? Curious how the great 2018 vintage of this wine may age?

Really nice, huge Syrah. Not sure where the 84 came from.

I would like it if somebody told me what they don't like about this wine because to me it is unbelievable.

Ruby color, slightly translucent, no amber edge. Very viscous. Sweet cherry and raspberry aromas. Soft and round on the palate, medium body, but too sweet for a table wine. Nice long aftertaste. We drink these with cheese after a meal, not as an accompaniment to a meal. If consumed that way, very nice. If I'm looking for a true zin with briar fruit and classic zin character, this would not be my choice.

Very well balanced zin. Great nose but only after at least 1hr of air. Need to save one of these to at least 8 or 9yr mark to see what secondary flavors show up. Really well made wine with fruit, tannins and subtle acidity singing perfectly together.❤ glad I have 3 more of these. Try next one in 2022. This was a purchase from Last Bottle.

As good as I had remembered from previous years. Well made, fairly priced.

How about the biggest wine of the year for the shortest day! Massive of course...ridiculously dense opaque blackish purple in the glass. Campfire, pepper, meat and dark berry on the nose. Blackberry, bacon fat and Asian spice on the palate. Alcohol is slightly noticeable but not surprising for a young HS, and not a deterring factor for me as I know this will integrate and settle out with bottle age based on my experience with Russell's wines. Full throttle, not for the faint of heart, fantastic wine!

This blend shows off the power and skill of Winemaker Russel F. The nose a little restrained but from there on the blend shows so well. Dark and red fruits blend together so well. The Tennat adds a touch of earth and grassiness. Not hot or overdone, just right.
