Tasted by vide on 2/3/2021 & rated 93 points: And that 93 points is given against what the best from Europe can give.
For its price, quite remarkable = beautifully lifted nose of dark fruit, smoke and undergrowth, perfumed and very intriguing. The palate took a little longer to get going; it was reasonably full but had just a touch of maderisation. That went after two hours, to reveal a wine of texture and depth, where the smokiness is fully integrated into the structure of the wine.

This is a very fine effort from Thorn-Clarke, and really you should be up there with the greats, but advertising and the promotion of name-brands
will make this difficult. Don't give up. You are making wine that costs me $400 dollars a bottle to get from the UK.

Tasted by rossso on 5/6/2018 & rated 90 points: Well balanced and elegant. Excellent value and still has a few years in front of it. (3054 views)
Tasted by thebatcavewines on 3/10/2018 & rated 91 points: Decanted for 8 hours. A medium/full-bodied wine. Plum & blackberry on the nose with a hint of chocolate. This was a lovely wine. Quite savoury with nicely balanced tannin's riding on a wave of oak & sandalwood. I still have two. I have heard it could go down another 9 years but i felt it was almost at it's peak so i'll open another one later this year or next year & see how it's changed. (3204 views)
Tasted by elblufer on 12/5/2016 & rated 89 points: Drank over two nights. Would definitely buy and drink again, especially at this price. (3665 views)
Tasted by RockyII on 10/2/2016 & rated 88 points: Inky purple with nice slow legs. PNP. Nose of blackberries, blueberries and cedar. Tastes are similar with notes of black pepper and eggplant. Medium bodied. Nice balance of fruit and acidity. Great value at less than $20 per bottle. (2947 views)
Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 4/10/2016 & rated 90 points: 2010 Two Hands Garden Series plus a lot more (Colonial Beverage, Chesterland Ohio): I have and continue to be a fan of these wines. Inky purple in color. The nose has black raspberries and spice. A palate to match. Not great acidity but enough to carry the fruit. Always a great value. They age well too. Happy to drink one blind to confirm my thoughts. (3704 views)
Tasted by Echodog on 3/5/2016 & rated 87 points: Very purple color on the rim of glass. Had a decent aroma of dark fruit and cedar. It opened up nicely and had dark fruit tastes. This is a good value wine for the price, but this isn't a 'great' shiraz by any means. For what's its worth I enjoyed it, very drinkable, and like i said, the price is right with this one. I say try it, but don't expect a world beater. (2165 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 9/25/2015: Fresh, juicy, spicy and delicious. (2967 views)
Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 9/5/2015 & rated 91 points: Wines over Labor day Weekend; 9/5/2015-9/8/2015: This is really nice and at under $20, there is a lot of value here. Purple in color. The nose has black raspberries, black pepper and cedar. Juicy texture. ice black raspberry fruit with firm tannins on the palate. Nice finish. The bottle had been open a while and I found this less jammy than a freshly opened bottle a few weeks ago. (2608 views)
Tasted by Johnfromspokane on 8/25/2015 & rated 80 points: This was actually for the 2011...apologies. The bottle hadn't lasted very well, showing funk and VA....improper storage perhaps, or transport. Hard to say. In either case the acerbic profile blew off after a bit and the Aussie Shiraz character started to come through. Decent bottle, but nothing stellar. (2176 views)
Tasted by RDHudak on 7/18/2015 & rated 90 points: Deep and very dark. N: Grape juice, spice and loads of dark fruit. P: Purple drank, massive fruit, grape juice, pepper and spice. Moderate acidity and tannin. F: Medium, but pretty jammy and straightforward. Opened after an hour decant, it could have used more decant time or cellar time. Solid for the $14 I paid at Costco. 89-90. (1768 views)
Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 7/15/2015 & rated 91 points: Thorn-Clarke wines (Chuck's Fine Wines): Another great value. I liked this more than the Cab blend, but then I like Syrah better than Cab. Purple in color. Plenty of depth here. The nose is slightly jammy with black raspberries, black pepper and spice. On the palate, there is a nice streak of acidity. Medium tannins. tight complexity. Juicy and delicious. (2171 views)
Tasted by orlypann on 5/25/2015 & rated 89 points: Solid Aussie offering. Good QPR. (1171 views)
Tasted by cwiebe on 4/11/2015 & rated 87 points: Very basic Shiraz, done in a textbook manner. Would work as a good introduction to the type. Peppery, brambly dark fruits, some heat and a medium finish. Nothing stands out, nor is it offensive, just decent. (1371 views)
Tasted by RPerro on 11/16/2014 & rated 89 points: Decanted 1 hour. Massive wine, totally dark and impenetrable. Big oak, spicy plum, vanilla. Needs time or a lengthy decant. Hold. (1678 views)
Tasted by CameronSumpter on 8/13/2014 & rated 91 points: Lusciously full-bodied, notes of fruit and plum. Would compliment pulled pork or London broil nicely; a good value at ~$15/bottle. (1559 views)
Tasted by StewartWent on 7/4/2014 & rated 86 points: As expected simple and straight forward but not without appeal. Some hardness late but for the most part soft enough to be slurp-able. (1523 views)

Shotfire (Ridge)

Thorn-Clarke produces a very popular set of wines with the name "Shotfire." Until 2004, they entitled them "Shotfire Ridge", but starting in 2005, the wines are simply designated as "Shotfire." To prevent repeated duplicates we have set the vineyard to "Shotfire (Ridge)" for all vintages.
