Tasted by noni15 on 2/26/2024 & rated 93 points: This wine definetly improved hugely on day 2, too much on day 1....please open it the day before and enjoy it next day. (144 views)
Tasted by noni15 on 2/7/2024 & rated 93 points: Lovely blend, however, open it the day before since it needs a long decant to settle into a more silky juicy. Full body with a linguering finish, but decant or airate for a 3-4 hours before drinking. (156 views)
Tasted by Ridgerunner on 3/12/2023 & rated 94 points: Great now, but I believe it will continue to improve over time. (524 views)
Tasted by rbradleypate on 2/6/2023 & rated 95 points: Filtered and decanted for 1 hour, then rebottled with the "shake." Well rounded, soft and approachable, great combination of power and finesse. It outshined the 2011 Carnival of Love that was treated similarly. Beautiful color and fruit mingled with a long, smooth finish. Drinking well now and should continue to do so for a few more years. I don't see this wine getting much better, unless the brown profile fits your palate. (532 views)
Tasted by Ex-Ray on 12/12/2021 & rated 95 points: Still dark garnet and opaque. Medium-full bodied, with some finesse and elegance rather than just raw power and concentration. Very open, sweet, complex nose of dark berries and fruits, but with some softness. Seems fully mature, but no doubt it will last at least five more years. Tasted with 2012 Carnival of Love, more contrasted, which we preferred slightly.

Tasted by galewskj on 9/7/2021 & rated 92 points: Pop and pour, drank a couple glasses over an hour. This wine is well-fruited, and also smooth. It's not jammy, there's actually a woodsy vegetal quality to the palate. This is in a good place right now, fully resolved, and no need to hold longer. (1477 views)
Tasted by I'd Rather Be Drinking Wine on 9/5/2021 & rated 93 points: Amy & Scott Break in their new deck!: I think it was PnP, but will amend or make a note if ZI am wrong - This is still very fruit-forward for a 10 year old wine. Mollydooker did an awesome job balancing the Cabernet with the Shiraz. Nose showed lots of purple fruit, baking spice, chocolate and leather....palate showed purple, black and red fruit, with chocolate and gravel with shades of tobacco. There is enough fruit, tannins and acidity to allow this wine to thrive for at least another few years, although I am not sure it will improve much. I would say drink up, but no hurry. 93+ for my palate. (1964 views)
Tasted by PDavisMarble on 8/6/2021 & rated 92 points: 5 years on, this is still big and bold, fruit forward, lush and rich. Not ideal with food, but it is more complex. (1129 views)
Tasted by Rick 4 Wine on 7/25/2021 & rated 92 points: STill drinking great here. Not agreeing with this rolling over in 2021 (1333 views)
Tasted by Rick 4 Wine on 11/15/2020: Drinking really soft here. Not sure it needed much of the MD shake. I think drink up. (1270 views)
Tasted by Ex-Ray on 7/17/2020 & rated 96 points: Still dark garnet and opaque. Medium-full bodied, with some finesse and elegance rather than just raw power and concentration. Very open, sweet, complex nose of dark berries and fruits, but with some softness. Seems fully mature, but no doubt it will last more at least five more years.

Tasted by MrMargaux on 5/9/2020 & rated 94 points: This wine is showing perfectly. On the nose, there are the expected black and red cherry notes with a hint of some floral notes as well. A fairly subdued nose overall. It is on the palate that this wine shines! The McLaren Vale Shiraz and Cabernet are perfectly balanced. The tannins have faded to the background. The fruit is much brighter than I usually see from McLaren Vale. The fruit holds from start to the long finish. I don't see any reason to hold this wine any longer. It has aged well and is at its peak! (1310 views)
Tasted by lrfinn on 3/29/2020 & rated 91 points: Still drinking well. (1262 views)
Tasted by UofM on 1/25/2020 & rated 90 points: A lot of the same. Last of these bottles. (1401 views)
Tasted by mdahar on 12/24/2019 & rated 93 points: Still very fruity but balanced (1205 views)
Tasted by UofM on 3/26/2018 & rated 92 points: Better than the last time I had it. Not sure if I score it any better, but seemed to compliment the meal, thus I was more happy with the wine. (2361 views)
Tasted by Rick 4 Wine on 12/27/2017 & rated 92 points: Really drinking well here. OK as a PnP (after the MD shake) but really shone after thirty minutes, when more of the terroir and inky stone flavors opened up in the midpalate. (2209 views)
Tasted by WineMedic on 11/22/2017 & rated 94 points: #1000 and im proud of it. Thank you to everyone for liking my ratings and following me on all my wine platforms. This ones for all of you. Deep purple. Black cherry, concentrated plums and pomegranates, and baking spices nose. Dry, balanced, rich highly structured wine. Flavors are well developed with time. Boysenberry, black cherry, blackberry jam, plums, plum skins, dusty gravel, sweet tobacco and milk chocolate. Starts to open up a bit but keeps that alcohol spirit along the way. (2445 views)
Tasted by jackaroo on 11/20/2017: Amazing quality from a vintage Langton only rates a five. (2373 views)
Tasted by rap on 11/18/2017: - Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of bell pepper and cut green grass and has flavours of raspberry, blackberry, prune and fig with a medium/full body. (2280 views)
Tasted by Rick 4 Wine on 3/22/2017 & rated 93 points: My prior notes hold, but the fruit has rounded out a touch, tobacco seems to connect more seamlessly with other flavors in the profile....I don't get the sense this is a bourbon. (2356 views)
Tasted by rap on 3/14/2017: - Garnet color with slow forming legs and aromas of blackberry and strawberry. (2179 views)
Tasted by ADiamond on 3/1/2017 & rated 92 points: Beautiful bottle of wine. Dark almost deep purple, currants and black cherry. No tannins, very smooth. (2007 views)
Tasted by jeffal66 on 2/18/2017 & rated 92 points: Extremely ripe, spicy and dark. Dark flavors and color. Intense, concentrated...some light acidity, long finish. In fact, an impossibly long finish. Plenty of menthol. Tolerable tannins. Huge wine but not without finesse and balance. (1930 views)
Tasted by Gianni74 on 11/20/2016: Another great one from Mollydooker! Tons of ripe blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, cinnamon and baking spices, even a little coffee. This wine is bold and big, but has such depth, and a truly impressive finish. Tannins are present but subtle. Carnival of Love is still my favorite, but this is a close second from this vineyard. 2011 Mollydooker Enchanted Path

ABV: 15.5%

Shiraz 71%
Cabernet Sauvignon 29%

Cabernet-Shiraz Blend

A very popular blend in Australia-particularly from South Australia, where the two varietals work well together. The most famous of these would be the Penfolds Bin 389, considered Australia's most cellared wine. In years gone by this was referred to as "Baby Grange" as some of the wine used barrels from the vintage of Grange.

The 2018 Paternus states only McLaren Vale Shiraz (no Cab Sav).
