Expressive nose with earthy and red fruit elements in the foreground, some spices follow. Elegant palate, composed, sappy, like a Gevrey 1er Cru. Good length. Best showing of this Cru so far.

From MAG restaurant list. Nice showing, typical slender Donatsch style with dark and red fruit, touch of sophisticated greenness. Oak a little to smoked. Medium- finish. Give this 3-5 more years before opening

Pompette Salon《酌樂 Series XII》 情人、反派與智者:男中音的極致魅力 (Taichung, Taiwan): Bright strawberry mix with some sour cherry and forest floor on the nose, this is indeed from a cooler climate. The fruit profile (mainly red) and acidity balanced very nicely with a yogurt-like, medium plus finish

Donatsch Unique Pinot Noir Complete Vertical (Dolder Grand, Zurich): Tasted at the Matter of Taste Zurich Complete Donatsch Unique Pinot Noir Vertical (2000-2019, all from Magnum) Masterclass. A difficult vintage where they lost many grapes to frost. This showed in a darker character with dried herbs and ripe raspberry fruit, lead and graphite mineral notes as well as hints of coffee. Palate is super fresh with great tension.

All 20 Vintages of Donatsch Pinot Noir Unique: Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to taste all vintages ever produced of this top Swiss Pinot Noir. All from magnum. A few obeservations: A) The structural frames are exceptional. Superb tannin quality, high, and perfectly-integrated acidity, lots of finesse and a weightless feel in all vintages. B) These wines are made to age. Only the 2002 was over-the-hill, most other showed young(-ish) from magnum and will have a long life ahead. Only the first vintage (2000) showed tertiary/peakish. C) The wines start drinking quite well from the age of 12-15 years. The younger ones from the 2010 vintage onwards were more about the potential with many even a bit closed. D) There's a jump in complexity with the 2004 vintage. Most (open) wines show beautifully complex, very well delinated, pure and Burgundian in style with a well-measured touch of sexiness.
TN: A bit more open nose than the previous vintages, fine red berries, floral and some toasty notes. On the palate this is so full of finesse, elegant, light, weightless, lots of toasty notes, pure fresh red berries, some stems, extremly long finish. Wow, this is one of the better 2017s I‘ve had to date. 94/95
