CellarTracker Reaches 10 Million Community Notes!

On March 7, 2003 I wrote the first tasting note on CellarTracker. At the time, CellarTracker was just a nascent hobby-utility I had built to track my own cellar and tasting notes. Later that month I showed it to a few friends who also wanted to use it, and upon adding to the system I realized that 3 people could be 3 hundred, 3 thousand or even 3 million. What I had initially envisioned as a productivity tool seemed like a potentially fascinating source of shared wine information and recommendations.

Twenty years later on March 11, 2023 the CellarTracker community logged the 10-millionth tasting note on a service that has now been used by tens of millions of wine collectors and enthusiasts across two decades. At its root, wine is inherently social, something to share with friends and family. Likewise, CellarTracker was designed to foster a community and let them share their impressions with the world, of what to drink, when to drink and what food to pair it with.

On our 20th anniversary of inception and the occasion of 10 million tasting notes, I just want to thank the amazing CellarTracker community for your engagement and support. You are what makes CellarTracker special. It is through your contributions that we are able to deliver on our mission to make wine more accessible and we look forward to reaching the next milestones with you.

Please visit this page celebrating this milestone.

Sincerely,
-Eric LeVine, Founder/CEO
