Grosser Ring Tasting of 2007 wines from the Nahe, Mosel, Saar and Ruwer (German Embassy, London): A dullish nose with a chalky minerality. Searingly dry palate. This just feels like it's had all the pleasure fermented out of it in an attempt to make something as dry as possible. There's just no fruit there at all. Like most trockens, it may improve with 4+ years of ageing, but I'm not going to bother finding out.
