With K at home at dinner (pasta del sol). Deep, rich gold. Rich, bold, buttery wine. Slight caramel in the nose as well. On the palate, big, heavy, rich, a bit too heavy and clumsy, somewhat oxidized, with a butterscotch finish. Flat, heavy, dull; out of balance, with little acid. 5-9-13-4: 81/100.

Smooth creamy, vanilla aroma with creamy rich fruity flavors leading to a medium length finish. Good character. BAUM SCORING: 3.3/4.4/5.5/4.5 = 17.7 * 5 = 88.5

At home at dinner with Kathy (spinach fettuccine with cream sauce). Color is very light, fresh, brilliant. No sign of age. Beautiful appley, oily aromas jump from the glass. Nice oak. Very broad, rich, mouth filling fruit on the first sip. Nicely oaked with plenty of balancing fruit. Wine gains in complexity to a fabulous creamy, fruity, vanilla finish. Acidity just right, keeps the wine lively. Incredibly good oaky, oily, melony wine. The best in quite a while. 5-14-18-8: 95/100.
