This was a gift bottle. Upon opening, the initial aromas comprised strawberry, raspberry and vanilla. The nose muted after about 30 minutes. This wine had lost its tannins, was very smooth and is probably in its prime. Served with Cornish Game Hens stuffed with a wild rice, pine nut, apple and gorganzola mixture. The acidity matched well with dinner.

Not as fresh or good as a bottle a year ago. Still showing good cherry on nose and palate. Fruit clearly less fresh, not quite living up to the remaining acidity and tannins.

Fruit-driven nose with flavors of red and black cherry. Good smoky, oaky contribution in background. At its peak, acidity provides good lift at end.
