the nose of candied apricots on this auslese is just great. silky on the palate, but fresh acidity, with floral and candied lychee flavors that are so concentrated. it's all accented by fresh minerals and slate and a long, lingering finish. very nice.

No formal note: I remember this being nicely balanced, though very sweet, offering solid Mosel typicity.

Grosser Ring Tasting of 2007 wines from the Nahe, Mosel, Saar and Ruwer (German Embassy, London): The nose has roast apples and a talcy minerality. This is a nice, pleasant Auslese, well restrained. Nice finish with great length. Not over-thrilling though.
