Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 91 points

  • Late night at home. Drank in Grassl Cru and Gabriel Standart. Screw-cap.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earthy roasted coffee-bean toast oak, dark red cherries, black cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of bitter coffee-bean, toasty oak, earth soil matter, sweet spices, cinnamon, sweet dark red cherries, black cherries with some brown sugar. Long spicy finish with bitter-sweetness.
Very good quality. Great QPR. Has serious substance for some ageing. Not shy currently also. Will probably warrant a higher score if the oak integrates well and the fruits and other elements hold up in tandem.
