  • Blackberry and fresh grape juice on the nose. Fruity - grapey, blackberry and violet on taste. Given the producer, I was hoping for a great experience but you can only do so much with Dolcetto I quess. Seems like a cross between a beaujolais and a lighter style Zin. Good pizza wine.

  • Well made. A little syrupy. Black brambly fruit. Ready to drink.

  • This wine takes the Dolcetto d'Alba to the next level, and through the mastery of a legend like Giacosa, it shows the world that even this variety can give birth to great wines from Piedmont. The color is an intense ruby red, clear, and incredibly vibrant. The balanced and complex nose relies on the purity and precision of the fruit, featuring cherry, raspberry, and blueberry. A spicier note emerges in the background and pairs with a wonderfully elegant balsamic undertone that makes it distinctive and characteristic. The tannin is surprisingly present, not unbalanced or overpowering, but it adds character and structure to a wine that, overall, remains inexplicably simple and enjoyable. Beautiful freshness and persistence complete a picture of harmony and excellence that is truly unusual for a Dolcetto. A masterpiece.

Masterpiece.

  • Brawny, syrupy florals and dark fruits. All of the heft of a Cotes du Rhone with little of the charm. And high alcohol to boot.

Not a fan. Maybe it gets better with age?
