PnP, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby-garnet with just a slight hint of edge bricking. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of tart black cherry, cedar, nutmeg, sage, and red licorice. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium tannin, medium intensity, medium body, 14.0% abv with developing flavors of tart cherry, red licorice, and sage with a medium+ finish.
Balance: Very Good-Excellent Length: Excellent Intensity: Very Good-Excellent Complexity: Excellent-Outstanding
My first experience with Tazzelenghe and I'm impressed with the complexities - over two hours only one aspect has been constant, sour/tart red fruit other than that at different times it's shown ever changing subtle notes including licorice, sage, nutmeg, cedar, stems, game, and florals. Feels very youthful yet at 11 years old, with its best years yet to come. While I wouldn't describe this as delicous it is definitely very interesting.

Reminded me of a rather young brunello. Oiled leather and balsam on the nose. Some bricking on the edges. Very structured. Dark fruit at the core and red cherries with some acidic tartness on the mid palate. Still quite tannic. Moderate acidity and nice finish.
14 percent abv.
