Rich dark plum color. Explosive Pinot nose. This is NOT a typical light, semi-sweet German Pinot of the past. If I had tasted it blind, I would've guessed it was a Hautes-Côtes de Nuits or Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. Plenty of acidity and fruit. If this wine had spent a little time in barrel, who knows what it would have shown? This is a Pinot of the future due to climate change. When the Germans start classifying their best Pinot vineyards, watch out Burgundy!

My first 2 nights with this mirrored that of the 2017's September '20 reviewer (except stewed strawberry, not black cherry), however the spiciness, as well as the overall experience, plateaud, then declined on nights 3 & 4. Mustard cotton candy undertones, or maybe the foxiness also posited about this vintage. Wet, no finish or structure. Unusual breadth of internet prices from 13 to 30; I overpaid $19, an alleged markdown from 32, but wouldn't buy again @$8 for what feels very much like a Trader Joe's wine, i.e. more insubstantial than it is fun

PnP - Very clear garnet. Nose has strawberry, unripe cherry, some floral notes, and a touch of Pinot funk. Palate is the same. Develops some nice foxy notes, with a bit of mossiness, and baking spices over the next few hours. Medium minus body, medium tannin, medium acidity.
