MRGeo's note captures this wine perfectly. A beguiling, very well made wine with an appearance that suggests light weight but is not a light weight wine. A rather remarkable contrast to the usual Zin experience. Buy more and let them develop.

Not a deep dark wine, appearance looks very lightweight. Color is very ruby red. Big nose of raspberry, charries, cedar and subtle nutmeg. Big bright cherries with white pepper spice. Gains some licorice in middle and added red apple, hints of baking spice and tobacco. Finish smooths out a lot, but still hangs on back of palate. Very good middle weight wine. Has plenty of time to cellar. I didn't decant, but I definitely think this would be great after an hour decanting.

Aromas of bruised cherries, prunes, dried figs, freshly turned soil, dried herbs, a little black olive and citrus provide interesting high and low notes... on the palate this is brighter than the nose suggests, but it is still redolent of dried fruits rather than fresh, tangy and open-knit, tannins lend a little grip, acids cut deep. Finish is a bit raw and rough, but I'm finding lots to love.

Light to medium ruby red. Cherried nose with spices and herbs. Medium tannins (5/10) with medium bodied. Fresh palate with strawberries, rhubarb, branches and a little earthiness. Long finish. Drink till 2028.
