Ruby. Plenty of sweet and ripe Pinot fruit. Cranberry, beetroot at first then going into black fruits. Black plums. Plenty acidity, ripe tannins. Good length. Suspect further ageing would have made it less straightforward.

Half bottle under screwcap. The colour was a thin dark garnet. The nose was almond, vanilla, back fruit and spice. In the mouth the medium tannins were present and the wine had a crunchy, stalky sensation. The finish was good and the wine was balanced albeit the higher alcohol content (14%) was noticeable. Overall it was very like a high quality Californian pinot noir. Not sure how much it will improve with more age but will try to hold onto the other one I have in cellar.

Screw cap enclosure. Med garnet in colour. The med intensity nose enjoyed cherry, strawberry, sweet spice and cedar. Arguably not super-complex but... wait. On the palate the body is med(+) to full. Pronounced intensity, med(+) acidity, med(fine) tannin, subtle length and an impressive balance. It is the latter aspect that bumped the score up for me. An eminantly drinkable bottle and one I aim to find again.
