Disg 12/20. Slight reductive umami kind of funk upon opening but that fades quickly. Quite fresh other than that, not showing much in the way of maturity. Elegant, light bodied which is somewhat surprising given the vintage. Pretty and food friendly. A very nice, tight little package. All that said this really lacks complexity and depth given the pedigree and vintage. I was really hoping for more. That said, its a very nice wine as it is. Just don't expect fireworks.

Saturday late night drinks at home. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow gold colour. Thin legs. Bubbles. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of bready yeasty brioche, chalkiness, citrus lemon oil. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of soda lime, ripe citrus lemon oil, vinous ripe apples, white chalky minerality, limestone, toasty brioche bread. Long finish. Very good quality. Complex but maybe just not showing full potential yet. Needs more bottle age. 100% Pinot Noir.
