Lovely garnet colour followed by a touch of spice and musk on the nose. The palate fully exhibits the great 2018 vintage in the Hunter with plum and spicy red fruits combining with soft tannins, medium weight acidity and an underlying richness of fruit. While the wine may well soften with some ageing it is a now very satisfying easy drinking shiraz. “Easy on the gums” as Len Evans would have said.

Ruby colour with larger purple hue. Aroma of plum, light spice, cedar and mulberry. Fresh plum, mulberry, pepper, light fine tannin, on the high side of acidity. Fresh, easy drinking, light to medium body.

Hunter Valley - 3 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley): {screwcap, 13.7%, A$30} Gluey oak and raspberry fruit. Low dusty tannins, savoury dusty cherry flavours. Light body, medium/high acid; restrained overall. Medium length finish, wants time to develop. Small production; it’s all gained in a single two-year-old 2600 litre French cask. Pretty good value if you give it some time.

Tyrrell's 2018 Red Release Tasting: Plum, black cherry, blueberry and a tinge of smoke- good lift here. Good red fruit purity and nice acid line. Medium length. Not complex but tasty and good value.
