PoB. Too smoky, towards burnt. There's depth and intensity, but palate also felt cooked. Planted 1997. Show before Orveaux and Suchots as roots not deep, but this will change to rival Malconsorts especially given global warming.

A Night of Truly Diverse Wines (Newtown, Sydney): Approachable and fruit-forward, if a bit primary, with aromatics of perfumed blue and black fruit, along with some pepper. Robust and rich palate, but a bit monolithic for me, whereas it really spoke to others and garnered a few determined WOTN votes (were we to have polled). I would hold 5 years+, but lovers of the style need not wait.

Also muted aromatics. Serious, deep palate.

PoB - Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Lunch (Hong Kong): Lots of dark fruit in the nose with violets, blackberry, impressive. Has the structure to age further. If you drink it now, decant.
