Drink alongside Pimpernel Pinot Noir Two. No. One, pursues an elegant style with minimal intervention, where No. Two is the antithesis of One with emphasis on secondary character expression.
Cork popped on both say 45 mins prior to drinking.
One was my favourite, although the room seemed to like Two better. Both were what I think of typical Yarra Valley Pinot, dark baked/stewed fruits, savoury and a touch of fungal / dry earthiness to them.
One seemed lighter, whiff of prettiness, baked fruits and less weight to the body. Two was more prominent in descriptors, darker stewed fruits and more generous in body.
Both I thought were aging well and quite enjoyable, but I’d say in their drinking windows.
