  • Last bottle of this.
Nose is gorgeous with tomato leaf, leather, tobacco, terracotta and spiced cherry - nice balance of earthiness and purity. Good initial intensity on the palate with some orange peel joining the mix but a bitter streak comes in quite early in the mid palate which then thins out. Initially the palate doesn’t deliver as much as the nose promises but with time and air things improve greatly and it starts to hang together with richer chocolate flavours. A solid wine here

  • 5 years later after first taste, 10year wine and drinking magnificently. Classic purple, slight brown hue, strong rich fruity aroma. First Brunello burst is subtle, smooth - dark cherries, currants, moving to a rich, earthy medium fast finish - leather, spice, a bit of smoke. Medium linger with a nice dry cheek pucker. Great wine

  • 100% Sangiovese

Semi-opaque, orange-tinged garnet, typical Sangiovese bricked appearance.

Nose is immense. Orange peel, cherry liquor, rose petal, black tea, new leather, Italian herbs.

Palate is lively. Dusty tannin, medium plus acidity, medium plus body, dry. Freshly ripe red berry fruits, mineral notes, some tobacco characters, new wood spices. Fresh and long finish.

15% abv but it does not feel like it. To the contrary, it's quite nimble and elegant, though I don't think this wine will be a long distance runner. I'd say this reaches its drinking window now and should last for 5-10 more years. 93.

  • Nose: tangy cherry, florals, red plum, vanilla, tomato, orange zest. Somehow reminds me of Christmas. Bright and fairly generous

Palate: juicy red cherry and red plum. Cranberry, vines Tomato, a hint of vanilla. High acidity that runs along the side of the tongue to the back corners of the mouth. Fine tannins and you get the alcohol and the orange zest on the finish (15%). Long finish.

All in all very clean and crisp. Certainly could benefit from some more aging - sadly only have one bottle left so I’ll leave that at the back of the cellar!

  • Bottle off the wine list at dbBistro. Drank over 2 hours.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Long legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of soapy red flowers, perfume, red licorice, pretty red cherries, orange peel. Black cherry cream and tobacco with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (15%), very smooth rounded high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of classic sour red cherries, black cherries, red licorice, sweet spices, fresh young earth dirt, stony minerality. Black tobacco tar with more air. Long finish.
Day 2 remainder: Additional touch of mushroom.
Very good quality. Packed with lots of concentration, yet remaining decidedly pure. Just at the start of drinking window. Still 6-7 years of development to go.
Single vineyard. 36 months in 16-25-33 hl barrels made of Allier oak.
