Mye gulfrukt som tyder på bra årgang, mye brioche og pene lagringsaromaer. I munnen er det mye gulfrukt, men også en del bitterhet. Medium lengde. Bra vin, men litt mye bitterhet i forhold til frukt. 90

Unfortunately I have to write a disappointing note. A friend opened this 2009. We were not able to finish it. A bit of yeasty oxidation and a huge amount of bitterness. Really bitter. And not much else. We may have had a bad bottle. However, Drappier does not score well with me lately. I had bought a case of the 2008 and I was very happy at first, then noticed a drop in quality over the years instead of gaining complexity. I was disappointed with the brut nature big time, with its huge unrefined carbonation. And also Charles de Gaulle was disappointing. I may have had a streak of unlucky bottles but I agree with other comments: the 2008 is infinitely better than the 2009, so do not buy the 2009.

Light color. This felt very youthful with crisp green apple, lemon. Light and acidic for a Pinot driven 2009, starts relatively tart with the dosage coming in at the end. Medium complexity only today, opened up more with some air adding biscuit notes. Hard to judge, may be more bottle age will bring out the extra oomph. 90-93

Ash, darker fruit character, walnuts, fine, nice tangy lift on the palate. Very nice. 92-93. Champagne Lunner at Newport Seafood.
