  2014 Trimbach Pinot Gris Reserve. At $14 from Last Bottle, this is way up there in my all-time QPR list. Mature orchard fruit and nimble acid on day 1; on day 2 the wine filled out a bit more and there was a pleasant bitter note on the finish (admittedly at the expense of a touch of acid). Be sure to serve at cellar temp on Day 2, which will keep the bitter note in check. Really lovely. Drink now or hold through 2026.

  The bottle seems to be descending into a more bitter version of its earlier self. There are still elements of the Alsatian glories of the past, but they are fading.
