Bought in release, first bottle in 18 months, perfect fill. Excellent balance, tightened up for 30 minutes and changed every 5 minutes, at 90 minutes had opened up and delicious. Gamay with minerality, sophisticated flavor and palate. Great wine (See note May 2022). A wine for patient people. Threw immense sediment to my delight. Hors classe?

Inky purple black. Take a couple of hours to get going, but really lovely feminine spice and perfumes on the nose, sandalwood and dark fruits. Dark brambly fruit, blackberry and plum, subtle spice and quite a lacy textured mineralite. Overall this felt to be in more of a closed, reticent phase than previous bottles, I’d suggest patience?

{Purchased on release, first bottle in several years, sound cork} Wow, this tastes like Gamay grown on granite and schist (as it is) ... actually tighter than I remembered from first tasting. Mid-palate really bloomed and everything improved over 4 hours, could have decanted it but attractive from the time of opening. Brambly, minerally wine with very good depth and length, fine tannins. A universe away from the fruit-juice wines made to be drunk immediately. My guess is that some of the disappointed notes here may be due to not enough air or a decant. Can be drunk now (six and a half years from harvest) but will let most of my bottles - and magnums - slumber for a while longer in the cellar. Excellent wine. 91-92.
Pancreatitis' note from several years ago is still accurate.
