A bit cloudy with some brown shades invading the medium ruby. The nose has a fine balsamic edge (eucalyptus and tree bark), still some fruit - mainly red - and with a bit of movement a more humid side comes out. Definitely showing the age but still hanging on. On the palate we have a fully resolved wine with still strengh and energy to provide a pleasant drinking experience but with a very tertiary personality. Hardly any fruit - maybe some acidic cherries if any - with some leather, soil and smoke coming through. Interestingly it finishes immensly long and still has a bite to it. Tannins are still there giving the necessary life for a pleasant drinking. No point in holding these bottkes any longer...some might be a tad better and some gone.

Wine that provoked me conflicting impressions. The aromas are very good. Ripe and dried fruits. In the mouth, it has elegance, but it is a little unbalanced.

A very dark mulberry red with hints of youth at the rim. Very big, sweet blackcurrants nose with raw red meat and a toasty note. Quite light on the attack. Immediate fruit, but remaining very elegant. Fairly light-bodied, but very full, elegant ripe fruit which turns chocolatey on the finish. Marked grippy tannins appear on the finish - seems a bit odd that there was no trace of them earlier and that they don't add much structure or body. An interesting wine. Very Good Indeed.

Portugal en rouge (groupe du mercredi, Bruxelles, Belgium, chez GV): Nez avec une touche de chocolat
Style très différent, assez souple, moins tendu, une touche rustique
